Eligible Organizations
This program targets tourism organizations:
- At the local or regional level in Quebec
- Little or not frequented by visitors from outside markets
- Located outside major tourist centres
To be eligible, an organization must:
- Be a tourist activity
For example: Tourist attraction, music festival, museum, sporting event, ski resort, agritourism, adventure tourism, heritage, historical or religious site, spa, outfitter, interpretation centre, etc.
- Adhere to the main objective of increasing its capacity to attract customers from outside Quebec
- Propose a project that meets the main objective and at least one of the following four (4) priorities:
- The regional dispersion of tourists
- Sustainable tourism
- Active tourism
- The extension of the tourist season
The organization must demonstrate its financial viability, its need for support, and the regional complementarity of its project. For full eligibility criteria, please consult the Applicant Handbook.
Ineligible Organizations
The following organizations are not eligible for financial assistance:
- Major tourist activities and attractions, festivals, and events that already attract tourists from outside Quebec.
- Retail businesses.
- Accommodation establishments (hotels, campgrounds, bed and breakfasts, inns, etc.).
- Food service establishments.
- Charter or regular transportation companies that do not offer tourist activities, such as excursions or sightseeing.
- Travel agencies.
- Sole proprietorships.
- Service companies such as aggregators, resellers, promoters, and distributors.
- Companies that do not have an operating permit or compulsory accreditation for their sector.
- Applicants who, during the two years preceding their application for financial assistance, failed to meet their obligations after being duly notified to do so when previously granted financial assistance.
- Indigenous tourism businesses (piloted by ITQ).
